I farmed vertically when I lived on a tiny eleventh-acre plot in the Mojave Desert. Anything on a vine grew well in that evil soil. Cucumbers, tomatoes, grapes… All seven feet tall straight up a wall. It was our little oasis. That backyard sold out property for us like a charm. It may have been the only thing I was sad to leave.
